Fix-It Fun: Practical Skills for Everyday Life
In this hands-on class, students will learn real-world skills to help them feel more confident and capable in their everyday environments. Co-taught by a skilled carpenter and an experienced educator, the class introduces basic home and life skills in a supportive, step-by-step way, making learning accessible, empowering, and fun.
Each week, students will use real tools and follow clear instructions to complete practical tasks such as:
Hanging pictures and wall hooks
Assembling simple furniture (like stools or small shelves)
Using a tape measure, level, and screwdriver
Hammering a nail and turning a screw
Safely using beginner-friendly tools
Repairing or tightening loose handles and knobs
Patching small holes or applying wall decals
Changing batteries in household items
Wrapping extension cords and safely plugging in electronics
Building small DIY wood or craft projects
This class helps develop fine motor skills, executive functioning, spatial reasoning, and independence. Students will also practice following directions, working collaboratively with individuals of all ages and abilities. They will learn how to adapt when things don’t go as planned, in a safe and encouraging environment.

Pricing
Small Group Classes (3-4 children): $150 per class
Semi-Private Classes: $200 per class
Private Classes: $250 per class
Pricing is based on a 60 minutes class, but can be prorated if your child would benefit from a class with a shorter duration.
